SOD – School of Dance “Dance for the Nations”
ATS 209 – School of Dance “Dance for the Nations”
February 16, 2025
The School of Dance “Dance for the Nations” is a second-level school of YWAM whose purpose is to disciple and equip dancers to be relevant in their areas of influence – in the ecclesiastical sphere and in the arts in general.
Take off your sandals and put on your sneakers. It’s time to dance!
In the arts, we understand the need for Christian dancers who are relevant to the context in which they live and responsive to the nations. Therefore, the goal of the school is to provide tools for these dancers and develop in them a lifestyle with which they glorify God and serve with excellence in the areas in which they work.
With the commitment to offer theoretical and practical knowledge, in the first three months of the school we will have practical and technical classes in:
- Urban Dance/Hip Hop
- Contemporary Dance
- Creativity and choreographic composition
- Leadership and artistic direction
- Brazilian rhythms
- Stretching and physical conditioning classes.
We will also have classes focused on the Kingdom of God, discipleship and theoretical knowledge, such as:
- Biblical Foundations for Dance
- History of Dance and the Church
- Heart and Character of the Artist
- Identity of the Artist
- Mission and Purpose
- Celebrating God with the Dance of the People.
After the first three months, we will have the practical period of the School, where we will go on a missionary trip focused on training and evangelism through all the knowledge and techniques acquired.
